Public Identifiers

A "Public Identifier" is an identifier your Organisation can use to identify your Contact. This may be something like a Customer number or Account number that you already use.

This can be useful when importing data from your own systems, because it can be used as the 'primary key' and so ensure that data cannot be lost, or duplicated, if your contact's name or phone number changes.
